Imbiss-Imbau is a series of workshops and an exhibition around the question: “How do we welcome people to Gropiusstadt in 2024?
To answer this question, we built, cooked, told stories, listened to stories, celebrated the common in public space between July and September 2024.

The construction workshop gave us our first opportunity to experience the common and to appropriate the public space with a set of benches, tables and stools that make up our “welcome station”.

Once completed, it is used for cooking workshops open to all, featuring dishes from different cultures. Experiences and stories are collected in various ways: in writing, through recordings, through drawings,...

With the artistic material collected during the events, we are organizing an open-air exhibition that paints a non-exhaustive and sensitive portrait of current welcoming practices in the Gropiusstadt district.
